In any environment in which you need to collaborate with people, particularly where you need to innovate and respond well to change, cultivating psychological safety is important. Most of the challenges we face in modern organisations cannot be solved by 'heroic' leaders coming up with solutions and telling people what to do. A psychologically safe environment helps people to be able to contribute their ideas , as well as supporting a culture of learning from mistakes.
